We'll take a look at this issue. There are several things that could be happening. The first thing I would look at is image size. Make your image 72ppi at around 640 pixel wide or tall. Anything larger and you could be slowing down the upload as well as not having the image fit on the page.
make sure you remember to file > save for web and devices to create a jpeg!
